Enhancing Online Meetings: How CAD Micro Innovates with Custom Solutions

In response to the surge of online meetings during the pandemic, CAD Micro sought to enhance our connections with colleagues, partners, and clients. Acquiring a Poly Studio USB video bar was a step towards better quality meetings, but we faced a challenge with its low positioning in our boardroom.

Our journey began with precision measurement and data acquisition. Utilizing the ZEISS T-SCAN hawk 2 and an ATOS Q, we 3D-scanned the video bar and its existing stand. This data served as the foundation for our custom stand design, ensuring a seamless integration with the Poly Studio.

Using Geomagic Design X and SolidWorks, we crafted the design of the new stand, accounting for every detail to achieve a perfect fit. Leveraging the capabilities of the Markforged X7 Field Edition printer and Onyx material, we brought our design to life through 3D printing.

To ensure stability, we filled the base with a sand-like material and utilized a unique technique during 3D printing, pausing to insert Garnet Abrasive material for reinforcement. The result? A sturdy, perfectly fitting stand with an added 3.3 lbs of weight in the base for stability.

By combining cutting-edge technology with creative problem-solving, we have not only optimized our online meeting experience but also demonstrated our capability to deliver tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients and partners.
