• Enhances corridor modeling and cross-section design
capabilities of AutoCAD Civil 3D

Custom Templates

Section 3D can be used with any combination of align-ments, profiles, and surfaces to create custom user defined templates without VBA programming. Cross sections are dynamically linked with all AutoCAD Civil 3D objects and can be super-imposed on adjacent sections with any number of links and marked points labelled with offset and elevation information.
 

Visual Subassembly Designer

Section 3D is often called a “Visual Subassembly Designer” because users can graphically create intelligent data, from which a master subassembly can translate all the design data into a fully dynamic corridor model. The area and volume of earth cut and full, as well as template quantities, are calculated within a user defined station and offset range independent of the corridor model.
 

Corridor Data

Not only is Section 3D easier to use, but because the corridor data is saved within the drawing file as an instruction set instead of graphic format, the size of the drawing file can be significantly reduced; in some cases by an order of magnitude.
 
 

Railway Design

Section 3D can be used to create railway designs from simple to complex multi-track scenarios where challenging super-elevation and curve detailing is required. This is an ideal tool for new design jobs and railway re-con-struction tasks where stripping and other design specific needs are a priority.
 
 
Dam Design
Section 3D can be used to design dams with details show-ing different components of the construction, as well as any combination of ditches or other design elements. The easy-to-use and customizable interface can display multiple surfaces’ sections and other components in different colors.
